Abstract

"Up to the present time, this book is the only introduction to the statistic program Stata in German and at the same time the only book about Stata that also provides beginners with an adequate explanation of this data analysis technology. Moreover, it is not merely a manual of commands: all steps of data analysis are enacted and explained using practical examples. These examples are related to topics in public discussion or in the immediate environment of the reader. This allows one to do without scientific theories in order to explain the analytical examples and alleviates an interdisciplinary use. The new edition does not only contain adjustments to the newest version of the Stata program (Version 12) but also a completely new chapter on inference statistics and the analysis of survey data.
