Modelling and simulation of migration, regional employment development and regional gross wage payment in Germany
Abstract
"This article aims to bring together insights from regional economics, population dynamics and migration. In a bottom-up approach the economic development of the regional gross wage payment and the volume of employment are linked with the spatial redistribution processes due to migration and demographic changes. Explicit attention is given to the model based analysis and the simulation of the regional gross wage payment on the level of the 441 districts of Germany for the period 1994 to 1998. Simulations for different scenarios with the time horizon 2003 are also discussed." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
