The bottleneck in vocationally qualified persons in the mid- and long-term perspective

Abstract

"In this chapter it is a question of whether, and to what extent, current matching problems in the training market possibly have medium- and long-term effects on the matching of the demand for and supply of skilled labour. Here what is most interesting is whether the long-term demand for skilled labour can be met in occupations in which establishments have difficulty filling training positions. Following on from this, we examine whether applicants who have not gone through placement procedures can be given the long-term option of a full vocational qualification if there is a lack of skilled staff in the midterm."
