Welfare benefit recipients providing long-term care for their relatives : How they reconcile job search and care tasks
Abstract
"The number of individuals in need of long-term care increases in Germany. Many people taking care of relatives have to reconcile their care tasks with their jobs. Unemployment benefit II recipients who take care for their relatives have to reconcile their care tasks with their job search. Using data of the Panel Study 'Labour market and social security' from 2006 to 2012, we study the situation of welfare recipients taking care of their relatives and their experience with their jobcenter."
