Paradata
Abstract
"In all surveys, data resulting from the survey process are also generated along with the actual survey data. These include, for instance, timestamps during computer-aided surveys, through which the length of time required to enter the answer to a question can be determined; or automatically registered movements of the computer mouse in a web survey. During a lecture at the Joint Statistical Meeting of the American Statistical Society in 1998 in Dallas, Mick Couper coined the term 'paradata' for this type of data. Such paradata allow a process and quality control for the implementation of surveys." (Text excerpt, IAB-Doku)
