Stellenbesetzungsprozesse am deutschen Arbeitsmarkt

Abstract

"What are the particular characteristics of difficult recruitment when an establishment is looking for personnel? What role do social networks play here - that is, friends, relations and other personal contacts? Are jobs that are found via social networks actually 'better' jobs? And what advantages do establishments that recruit their personnel via social networks have? These are the questions that Martina Rebien follows up in her dissertation. She demonstrates that some established assumptions about difficulties in recruitment and the importance of social networks for the labour market do not stand up to a deeper empirical examination."
