Generated variables

Abstract

"The datasets of the scientific use file (SUF) of PASS include different types of variables. This section focuses on the generated variables which were created during the data editing process. They are meant to provide users a quick start or information that could not be included directly in the datasets of the scientific use file, e. g. information on the relationships between the household members. Detailed information about the generated variables can be found in the wave-specific data reports, e. g. an overview of the variables generated for a certain wave or the source variables they are based on. This chapter of the user guide will give a general introduction to the different types of generated variables and some notes on their use." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
