Tapping personnel reserves: the labour potential of women, older persons and migrants when qualifications are taken into consideration

Abstract

"As a result of demographic factors, it is highly likely that the Germany labour potential will face dramatic changes: while the average age is rising, the number of persons is dropping. Because of the outstanding importance of the demographic component, this development can also be predicted relatively reliably over the long term. The discussion which is currently taking place in Germany about the shortage of skilled worker revolves, among other things, around the question of how one might succeed in increasing the labour potential."
