Field analysis as a research programme : Vol. 2: formation of theories about the subject

Abstract

"Field analytical research develops theories of middle range about the subject from the interaction between basic theoretical orientations and empirical research objects. The contributions brought together in Volume 2 present research projects and results from the areas of economics, (transnational) politics and art. The central objective of these contributions is to indicate what respective structures and dynamics are typical and in addition to reveal on which methodological decisions and practical research logics field analysis rests. In this way, it becomes possible to utilise the practical research insights of individual field analyses in a cross-disciplinary way for other research contexts. The collection of papers in this volume show what potential the research programme of field analysis puts at our disposal for explaining and understanding differing social phenomena."
