Active labour market policies and the labour market prospects of participants
Abstract
"This paper focuses on the effectiveness of active labour market policies. Active labour market programmes in Germany are described and the problems associated with measuring their effectiveness are discussed. Furthermore, an evaluation tool recently developed by the German Public Employment Service is sketched out and some indicative results, using a newly developed data set, for important programmes are presented. The results obtained are most favourable for programmes that directly aim to integrate the unemployed back into the labour market." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
