Refugees from Ukraine: Integration Prospects in Germany. IAB Statement on the hearing at the German Council of Economic Experts on 13 October 2022

Abstract

"In preparation for the 2022/2023 annual report of the German Council of Economic Experts, the IAB was asked to provide its expertise on the integration prospects of refugees who came to Germany in the wake of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine. The integration of refugees poses new challenges for policymakers and society, but labor market integration could also create opportunities for both, refugees and the German economy.
