Bürgergeld-Gesetz
Abstract
"With the Citizen's Income Act (Bürgergeld-Gesetz), the federal government is making significant changes in the design of basic benefits for jobseekers and is initiating a departure from elements of labour market activation and a strengthening of participatory and cooperative elements in the relationship between job centres and benefit recipients. In its statement, the IAB discusses, on the basis of scientific findings, the plans for the design of the integration process and the reduction of benefits, the level of benefits and access to basic security benefits, the abolition of placement priority, the strengthening of incentives for further training, the early determination of the instrument "participation in the labour market" („Teilhabe am Arbeitsmarkt“, § 16i SGB II) and the introduction of holistic support in § 16k SGB II. This IAB statement refers to the Federal Government's draft bill of 2022-09-14. It does not take into account the Federal Government's amendment proposal that became known on 2022-11-04."
