Abstract

"In preparation for the Annual Report 2020/2021 of the German Council of Economic Experts, the IAB was asked to provide its expertise on questions concerning further training and apprenticeship training in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, these questions related to further training of low-skilled workers, possibilities for further training during short-time work episodes and as part of the National Further Training scheme, the current state of the market for apprenticeship training and the federally funded programme “Ausbildungsplätze sichern”.
