COVID-19-Krise: Die Arbeit geht weiter, der Wohlstand macht Pause
Abstract
"The results of the sixth wave of the qualification and occupations projections (QuBe) provide an overview of the German labour market up to the year 2040. The results show that the COVID-19 pandemic will set back the long-term economic performance by around three years. Nevertheless, the number of unemployed will decline in the long term. The retirement of the baby-boomer generations from the labour force is reducing the number of people in work and at the same time increasing the number of people to be cared for. In 2040, the health sector will have the largest number of employees and will be characterized by shortages of skilled workers. Due to ongoing digitization, the search for people in IT will be associated with (more) difficulties, especially in specialist and expert jobs." (Author's abstract) ((en))
