Abstract

"This research paper focuses on the arrival processes of refugees in Germany. It asks how they integrate into the labour market against the backdrop of personal experiences, networks and institutional conditions in the host country. In addressing this question, the paper starts from the refugees’ perspective. It identifies refugees’ educational and labour market strategies and it addresses how these interact with social contacts to people living in Germany. The findings rely on 42 qualitative interviews with refugees that immigrated between 2014 and 2016." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
