Abstract

- With the aim of reducing bureaucracy, an IT-supported project approval procedure is being implemented in July 2017. This will further advance the integration of project-related business processes. The lean, workflow-based process will allow a faster, more flexible and thus more economical workflow. In addition, all relevant project data for the IAB reporting are immediately available through a consolidated project data base, which further increases transparency for internal and external stakeholders.
The prototypical approach makes it possible to gradually integrate further modules into the application and to gain experience which is essential for the transfer into a business application. Substantial enhancements to be implemented over the coming months include the digital signing, the integration of the business processes of public procurement and the registration of the department budget as well as the documentation of scientific quality in science projects.
