Abstract
The project explores whether and for what reasons firms are willing to take into account applications from the long term unemployed. Another focus of the analysis lies on the firm specific assessment of labor market relevant characteristics of the long term unemployed and firms' perceiptions of potential training measures that may facilitate the re-entry of this group into the labor market. The results from the project may help to develop strategies that allow for a specific support of the long term unemployed. The project further aims to identify non-qualification-specific characteristics that are important for a successful job search.
