Abstract

To present and analyze the aggregated development of the labor market comprehensively, it is not sufficient to look at the figures of employment. In fact, it is necessary to calculate the volume of work relating to specific periods as a product from employment figures and working hours. The IAB working time measurement concept (AZR) forms the basis for the analysis of the developments of working hours and their causes.
