Abstract

This project continues the data collections gathered in the project TRANSMIT (3626) and builds upon earlier research results and experiences in the field. The project focuses on migration decision making and its determinants for individuals in transit and destination countries. More precisely, we will evaluate the impacts of EU migration policies on the migration decisions of citizens and non-citizens in Turkey and Morocco, two important transit countries for migrants towards the European Union. We furthermore put an emphasis on labor migration aspirations and opportunities. To that end, we plan longitudinal surveys in Turkey and Morocco. Our partners at WZB and IMIS will furthermore collect qualitative data.
