Abstract

The regional labor market integration of the elderly is examined against the background of individual factors, regional economic conditions and pension law reforms. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of regional differences in the average age at which older men and women leave the labor market. This is calculated on the basis of the Integrated Employment Biographies of the IAB for the 96 regional planning regions of the BBSR (Federal Institute for Research on Building, Urban Affairs and Spatial Development). In addition to the spatial differentiation, further differentiations are made, especially in terms of qualification, occupation and sector.
