Abstract

The goal of the project is to contribute to the public debate on the planned minimum wage increase, by analyzing potential impacts on local labor markets in Germany. A common minimum wage may have differential effects on local labor markets, depending on the local wage level and on the share of jobs affected by the minimum wage. The project shall asses the local potentials for minimum wage-induced employment effects, based on the Verdienststrukturerhebung survey.
