Gender-specific search, matching and the residual wage gap

Abstract
We are interested in gender-specific application and selection behavior. To this end, we are going to propose a two-stage search model. From this model, we derive proxies for selection, which we use in the empirical analysis. We use the IAB Job Vacancy Survey linked to the adminstrative data. First results show that females are less likely to apply at high-wage firms, but there does not seem to be a large different in hiring probabilities.
