Inclusivity in the Working World

People with disabilities still encounter many barriers. This applies to the labour market as well and in particular. Inclusivity in the working world means much more than barrier-free access to the workplace. In order to include more people with disabilities into the regular labour market and thus also open up more social participation for them, the Bundestag has approved a Federal Government bill to promote an inclusive labour market. Companies also benefit from people with disabilities and health impairments participating in working life equally and in a self-determined manner, because inclusion and diversity in the workplace also open up new opportunities for them.

What is the labour market situation of people with (severe) disabilities? How can people with disabilities participate in working life in an equal and self-determined way? And how can companies become more inclusive? How can the integration of mentally ill people into employment be improved? How has vocational rehabilitation developed in times of the COVID-19 pandemic? The IAB addresses these and other questions concerning the topic of “inclusivity in the working world work” in its research. On this special page, we have compiled IAB publications and projects on this topic for you.
