We are appalled at the war of aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, which is a brutal violation of international law. This invasion causes unimaginable human suffering. We strongly condemn it.
This is also an attack on our fundamental values of freedom, democracy and self-determination. Scientific freedom and academic cooperation possibilities are unimaginable to us without these values. We stand with the people of Ukraine. We also wish to declare our solidarity with the people in Russia who speak out against their country’s war of aggression at significant personal cost.
Support offer
In these hard times, the IAB offers its support to the scientists from Ukraine who are active in the field of labour market, occupation and social policy research. They can choose to continue their own research or to take part in the IAB research as visiting scientists at the IAB, to join the IAB’s graduate programme or to take up temporary employment at the institute. The students from Ukraine will be offered such occupational options as student worker or research assistant, or an internship scheme. We kindly ask all those interested in our offerings as well as those supporting them to contact us at iab.iab4ukraine@iab.de.
Scholarships
The IAB has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the initiative Ukrainian Global University. Within the framework of the cooperation, one scholarship per year is offered for a doctoral student and one for a post-doctoral fellow.
