Abstract

"The following contribution is based on findings of labour market research and provides insights that are relevant for the (legal) control of migration and for a successful integration of migrants. In the following second part, the latest migration events are described at first. Afterwards, the (macroeconomic) importance of migration and integration for the economy and the labour market in Germany is examined in the third part. In the fourth part, the existing evidence for the employment opportunities of migrants is gathered. Finally, approaches to legal policy-related further development of the regulations on migration and integration as well as additional ideas for immigration policy are discussed in the fifth part."
