Refugees have made progress with regards to language skills and employment

Abstract

"Migration of protection seekers into Germany is still in the focus of the social debates. The second wave of a longitudinal survey among refugees shows that there is significant integration progress, although some of the refugees have unfavourable preconditions with regards to health and education level when they come to Germany. Their German language skills improved as compared to the previous year, and their participation in working life as well as in education and training increased." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
