The classification of occupations 2010 : potentials of the new structure

Abstract

"The indication of profession or occupational activity is very important in social or economic research, as it is in all statistics revolving around the labour market. It can serve to answer specific questions about occupational mobility, requirements for skilled workers, or the education market. A central prerequisite is, however, a suitable and up-to-date occupational classification. With the 2010 Classification of Occupations (KldB 2010) a realistic classification for Germany was developed that measures at the same time both the type and complexity of occupational activity."
