Personalmanagement und wirtschaftlicher Erfolg
Abstract
"In the competition for skilled workers, companies rely on a target-oriented personnel policy in order to retain skilled workers and thereby increase the success of the establishment. The Linked Personnel Panel (LPP) is applied to investigate both the short-term and the long-term effects of personnel policy on value added and health-related measures. While all personnel measures positively correlate with value added, only the introduction of performance assessments and variable pay components for managers can show significant short-term effects on value added in the fixed effects model.<br> Further analyses of the impact of personnel measures on health at the establishment level show that performance assessments for employees without management responsibility increase the average number of sick days in the workforce. At the employee level, panel analyses reveal a negative effect of further training offers on the number of sick days of an employee. Moreover, these offers exert a positive effect on the perceived health of employees." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
