Der Verbleib von MINT-Studierenden in den ersten vier Hochschulsemestern
Abstract
"In Germany about one-third of all students drop out their studies prematurely. A bigger part of the empirical work on the subject of 'abandonment' focuses on the analysis of individual demolition reasons. At this juncture, the actual course of study is not considered in detail. In the following study, the whereabouts of students, course changers and drop-outs during the course of studies, among others, were researched in more detail regarding critical study phases. The analysis was focused on the MINT degree programs: Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering at OTH Amberg-Weiden and OTH Regensburg. Based on a panel study design, the course of study in the first four semesters of MINT study has been analyzed since the beginning of matriculation in winter semester 2015/16."
