Evaluation of the IAB/ZEW Start-up panel : additional sample Baden-Württemberg. Wave 9
Abstract
"The aim of the IAB/ZEW Start-up Panel is to observe enterprise start-ups over a period of several years. By means of computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) roughly 6,000 start-ups are surveyed per year. By surveying an additional sample, as of the year 2015, the number of enterprises from Baden-Württemberg has been additionally increased so that separate and comparative analyses are possible for enterprises in Baden-Württemberg. Unless otherwise indicated, all evaluations show weighted averages of new businesses from the start-up years 2012-2015 in 2015. The weighting serves to balance out the described over-proportioned share of enterprises in certain branches and regions and thus to enable inferences to be made about the population of young entrepreneurs. In the evaluations, enterprises from Baden-Württemberg are compared to enterprises from all other German federal states (other than Baden-Württemberg)." (Text excerpt, IAB-Doku)
