Schemes for Activation and Integration : Higher employment effects for long-term non-employed

Abstract

"In 2009, Germany combined several short training measures and the outsourcing of placement services to private providers into the new 'schemes for activation and integration' (SAI). We evaluate whether these reshaped schemes greatly differ from their predecessors in terms of their effects on the employment chances of participating unemployed welfare participants, and whether persons not employed for a long time fare better or worse than those not employed for only a short time."
