Fiscal and macroeconomic effects: Worthwhile investment in the integration of refugees

Abstract

"We analyse the fiscal and macroeconomic impact of investments in the integration of the refugees who immigrated in 2015 to Germany. If the effects of educational attainments and language skills in the future are similar as to date, investments of 3.3 billion euros in education and language would reduce the cumulative costs of refugee immigration up to the year 2030 by 11 billion euros."
