Zur Integration von Flüchtlingen in den Arbeitsmarkt in Schleswig-Holstein

Abstract

"In this Statement, the IAB is commenting on a report by the Federal State Government 'Integration of refugees into the labour market in Schleswig-Holstein' (printed document 18/3714) of 13 January 2016. This details the numerous measures taken by the various actors in the Federal State to improve the integration of refugees into the labour market, and into education or training.
In the face of the increasing number of refugees in 2015, it is important - from the perspective of the IAB - to build up enough capacity to offer timely and adequate provision of German-language courses, school education and professional qualifications. Here, considerable progress has been made over the last months, including an acceleration of the application process, and the reduction of legal uncertainty. Along with a further reduction in the time taken to process asylum applications, it is now also ensured that those seeking asylum are given the opportunity to submit an application for asylum shortly after their registration.
Irrespective of this positive development - and not least because of the large degree of uncertainty surrounding further developments in the refugee crisis - the extent of the measures adopted and the range of services offered should be subject to regular review. In this regard, it would be advantageous that the relevant actors and stakeholders jointly develop a coherent integration programme which could serve as an appropriate framework for future planning."
