Improved labour market institutions during the economic crisis
Abstract
"Up to and into the 1990s, the German labour market was characterized by the fact that an economic upswing had hardly any effect on the status quo of employment whereas a recession did. For five years now however, the opposite has been the case: the upswing has been influencing the development of employment while the recession hardly has. Clearly, longer-term adjustment processes, beyond business cycles, are shaping the development of the labour market." (text excerpt, IAB-Doku) ((en))
