Crisis check: An inspection of the German labour market with servicing recommendations

Abstract

The authors of the "Crisis check" special edition of the magazine IAB-Forum trace the causes of the global crisis back to the American real estate market. The subject labour market institutions to a stress test and analyse how active labour market policies should be applied in times of crisis. They take economic stimulus packages I und II to a scientific road-worthiness test and outline the diversity of international crisis programmes. Two concrete instruments are illuminated in detail: establishment-level alliances for employment and short-time work. (IAB) ((en))
