Demographic change and the development of skilled labour : a comparison between Bavaria and Germany as a whole

Abstract

"In Germany, there will be less labour available in the future than today for demographic reasons. In addition to this, the age composition will change: there will be less younger and more older workers. At the same time, regional disparities are likely to intensify because prosperous regions will profit from influx from both home and abroad while this will not be the case in weaker regions.
