Multidisciplinary labour market research at the Institute for Employment Research
Abstract
"The Institute for Employment Research (IAB) is a research institution of the Federal Employment Agency. It carries out multi-disciplinary empirical labour market research on the basis of two legal mandates and offers advice to policymakers, practitioners and professional circles. The IAB is scientifically independent in its work, absorbing stimulus in its choice of topics both from the research community and from political spheres/operative practice. The central research topics of IAB are, for instance, forecasts, evaluation of labour market policy, regional and international analyses as well as educational, social and company-centred research relating to the labour market."
