Employability : from theory to practice

Abstract

This collection illuminates concepts and instruments aimed at measures to promote the employability of workers with a view to combatting the unemployment and marginalisation of problem groups. What is discussed are the methods in various different countries for the early identification of the risk of long-term unemployment, the role of employers and of unemployment insurance - which in some countries is developing in the direction of employment insurance - in the employability process, as well as the methods used by industrialised countries, countries in transition and a developing country to solve their labour market problems.
