Problems of suitability at the first threshold and the behaviour of establishments in employing trainees
Abstract
"What is important for the success of the dual system of education and training is whether those completing the training manage to move on into regular employment relationships once the training has been completed. Using current data from the IAB Establishment Panel and the BIBB Qualification Panel, the following chapter examines what developments have taken place in the way establishments in Germany take on such personnel and asks whether the behaviour of establishments in taking on such staff and the problems in looking for young people for in-house training are related."
