Developments in vocational fields and qualifications in Hessen, Rhineland-Palatinate and the Saarland (HeRPSl)

Abstract

"The QuBe Project, that is implemented under the joint leadership of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in collaboration with the Institute of Economic Structures Research (GWS) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology (FIT), provides an overview of the expected development of the national labour market in Germany up to the year 2030. To do justice to the significance of regional disparities, a pilot study was carried out as a first step for the model region Hessen, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland (HeRPSl). It was the aim of this pilot study to examine the feasibility of economically serious regionalised projections of demand and to assess their consistency vis-à-vis the overall results. In addition to this, it was also a question of determining what depth of disaggregation could be achieved at regional level with regard to occupations and qualifications.
