Large variance : what one earns in Germany's carer professions

Abstract

"In the centre of this study is a current stocktaking of the gross wages of (male and female) nurses and carers for old people which is carried out on the basis of the employment statistics of the Federal Employment Agency on full time employment and differentiated according to Federal States. These results are flanked by additional analyses on the basis of the Microcensus of the Federal Statistical Office with the help of which one can take a glance at the extent and causes of part-time work in the care occupations."
