Quality of work and economic success : a longitudinal study in German establishments. First intermediate report of the project
Abstract
"The current report gives an overview of the core results from the evaluation of the first wave of the Establishment and Employee Survey, which was carried out within the framework of the BMAS (Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs) project 'Quality of work and economic success - a longitudinal study in German establishments'. First, simple descriptive evaluations of the findings of the survey are undertaken. Here the focus is laid on topics currently being discussed as well as modern instruments of personnel management. On the basis of the first wave of the Linked Personnel Panels (LPP), which has now been initiated, (i) a detailed overview of instruments in personnel management in German can be given and (ii) interconnections between these instruments and the perceived quality of work examined. In doing this the report follows the main topics of 'personnel planning and recruitment', 'personnel development', 'performance management and variable remuneration' as well as 'company culture and certification'. In addition, it is shown using the example of 'ubiquitous working' how working conditions and stress can be related to the measured variables of quality of work." (Text excerpt, IAB-Doku)
