The relationship between health and labour market status in the reintegration of persons undergoing rehabilitation by the Federal Employment Agency

Abstract

"The current article examines now for the first time the connection between employment status and health in relation to those groups of persons undergoing occupational rehabilitation during reintegration with support from the Federal Employment Agency (BA). Because of limitations relating to health, these persons can no longer fulfil their occupational activities and receive very different kinds of support in order to be able to participate in the world of work once more within the framework of another, or an adapted, occupation. What is to be studied is whether, and to what extent, the employment status after the end of rehabilitation has an effect on one's subjective state of health." (Text excerpt, IAB-Doku)
