Successful foreign models: understanding instead of copying

Abstract

"The labour markets in the industrial countries have developed quite differently over the last years. In a number of countries, employment increased and unemployment dropped considerably (the United States, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands), while unemployment remained high in other countries and even increased further. Because of this, it is worthwhile casting a glance across borders to find out what is behind the success that certain countries are experiencing with their employment policy."
