Entrepreneurial challenges at the beginning of the demographic slump

Abstract

"Globalisation, technological progress, demographic change, a surplus of students - all these catchwords are dominating the discussions on educational and occupational policies at the present time. Behind these are hidden processes that, although they can be described individually, can only be grasped to a limited extent in their complexity and interdependence. The aim of the following article is to sketch the trends from the perspective of establishments and then to first study separately the cumulative effects on the requirement for labour and qualified labour as well as the supply of labour and qualified labour; it will then, in a following step, contrast this - by way of a balance - with the long-term development of supply and demand of the establishments."
