Rekonstruktion von Erwerbsverläufen

Abstract

"As an individual's employment status can be associated with health risks, information on the individual working life is of particular interest in the field of health research. In order to obtain information on previous employment histories, secondary data collected through the Labor market administration is more and more frequently linked to survey data. This chapter presents an overview of secondary data sources of the German Federal Employment Agency and the Institute of Employment Research. Particular consideration is given to Integrated Employment Biographies of the Institute for Employment Research. As an example, the study 'lidA -- leben in der Arbeit. German Cohort Study on Work, Age and Health' shows how survey data can be enhanced by employment biographies reconstructed from administrative data of the Federal Employment Agency. Applying optimal matching methods, typical employment biography patterns for the respondents can be identified." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
