Eight years of basic income support for job-seekers : structures - processes - effects

Abstract

"Eight years after the introduction of the basic income support for job-seekers in 2005, IAB is taking stock of the situation once more. The report summarizes the results of IAB research on Book II of the Social Code (SGB II) from 2009 to 2012 and places the findings in an overall context. The current status of knowledge on the structure and dynamics of drawing benefits is described, as are the results of the process of activation and support. In addition, this volume presents the results of research on the impacts of labour market policy instruments as well as the macroeconomic effects of the reforms. The authors indicate where basic income support stands today and where - from the perspective of researchers and practitioners - future challenges lie." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
