The development of former privatisation agencies (Treuhand-Unternehmen) : analyses using the data of the IAB Establishment Panel

Abstract

"In what way has the efficiency of the former privatisation agencies (Treuhand-Unternehmen) developed from 2000 to 2007 after their own privatisation in comparison to other establishments in the eastern part of Germany? What do the export activities of privatisation agencies look like in comparison to other establishments in the western and eastern parts of Germany? The following contribution is structured in this way: First, in the next section, an overview of the status of research and the institutional background is provided. This is followed by a presentation of the econometric procedure of measuring the efficiency of an establishment. After that, the results of descriptive and multivariate analyses are outlined.
