In-house working hours : evaluation of the IAB Establishment Panel

Abstract

"The discussion about the situation, distribution and duration of working time has been controversial for many years - and not only in Germany. Not all facets of the debate can be portrayed in this expert report, but rather only such aspects for which empirical findings are available from the IAB Establishment Panel for the years 2002 to 2008. Essentially, these include the following aspects: - Representation of agreed weekly working times, distribution of the workforce according to agreed weekly working times - The situation vis-à-vis overtime - The spread of working time accounts and periods of compensation - The spread of long-term accounts as well as the intended purposes - Instruments for the management of working time."
