Applied sampling for large-scale multistage area probability designs
Abstract
"This chapter reviews design consideration for large-scale studies using multistage area probability designs. We discuss and illustrate recent innovations in area probability sampling with reference to the 2000 National Opinion Research Center's (NORC) National frame and the general social survey (GSS). We intend to provide greater understanding and appreciation of what goes intor large-scale suvey projects. While the discussion focuses on surveys in the United States, the concepts apply in most other countries. Our illustrations are studies of housholds or persons, but the same tools can be applied to surveys of schools and other establishments." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
